Starbucks BUYcott

Posted: February 14, 2012 in Uncategorized

Today, February 14th, Valentines Day, the National Gun Victims Action Council has declared a boycott of Starbucks because of their support for American gun laws.

Now, regardless of whether you like or hate the stuff they call coffee at Starbucks (for the record, I think it’s one baby step above swill), the fact is that Starbucks deserves our business today. So go there on your lunch break, or after work, or on your way to work if you work second shift, and buy something. Buy a coffee, or a tea, or a hot cocoa, or a cookie, or something. If there were a Starbucks between my home and my store, I would have stopped on my way in this morning and bought something. But there isn’t. So tonight, after I close up shop, I’ll be driving across town and giving them my business.

And after I pay (with 2 dollar bills, how ironic), I’ll thank the hipster “barista” for his or her employer’s support of The Second Amendment.

I did it yesterday, I’ll do it tonight, and I’ll do it again tomorrow. It’s going to cost me less than twenty dollars total, and if enough people do it, it’ll send a message to some of these insane antis that we, as law-abiding American gun owners, are much more than the backwards hicks and conspiracy theorists that they portray us as.

So go to Starbucks. Give them your money. Even if it’s only today and tomorrow.

-Rich out.
